| Welcome to Wheeler Elementary School |
||||||
Frank H. Wheeler is one of four, neighborhood elementary schools. It was built in 1959, with an addition that was finished
in 1966. It is located across a quiet street from a city park and is nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The facility is truly
a part of the community it serves and continues to enrich the lives of its students. It is a safe atmosphere that envelopes
the classroom, school, and surrounding area.
Wheeler Elementary School focuses on the basics, but equally invites the innovative. Wheeler children enjoy learning in a
variety of ways. If you were to visit our school, here is a few of the things that you might see students doing: working in
the Outdoor Classroom, watching baby chicks hatch, reading in literature circles, bowling in PE, playing musical recorders in
music, choosing from the self-service lunch bar, participating in the Science Fair, dressing up for a book report, serving as
an office assistant, deciding on projects for student council, building a Lego machine, taking a field trip to Conner Prairie,
and the list could go on forever. It's a happy place to learn!!!
