Welcome to Wheeler Elementary School

Frank H. Wheeler is one of four, neighborhood elementary schools. It was built in 1959, with an addition that was finished in 1966. It is located across a quiet street from a city park and is nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The facility is truly a part of the community it serves and continues to enrich the lives of its students. It is a safe atmosphere that envelopes the classroom, school, and surrounding area.

Wheeler Elementary School focuses on the basics, but equally invites the innovative. Wheeler children enjoy learning in a variety of ways. If you were to visit our school, here is a few of the things that you might see students doing: working in the Outdoor Classroom, watching baby chicks hatch, reading in literature circles, bowling in PE, playing musical recorders in music, choosing from the self-service lunch bar, participating in the Science Fair, dressing up for a book report, serving as an office assistant, deciding on projects for student council, building a Lego machine, taking a field trip to Conner Prairie, and the list could go on forever. It's a happy place to learn!!!
